Unfortunately, it sounds as if you may be affected by a known issue that affected the processing of the second round of payments for a number of taxpayers, including some TurboTax customers. The issue was identified, but due to the limited time given to the IRS to process payments, corrections may not be in place for this particular payment. We do not expect this issue to recur should another payment be approved at a future date.
Some taxpayers showing an account that is not recognized when checking theGet My PaymentGet My PaymentGet My PaymentGet My Payment tool may still see a payment in the next few days.
The IRS has recently issued new guidance regarding what to do if your payment was not received. You can read the full text of the IRS statement here: IRS Statement About Second Economic Impact Payment. Below is a pertinent excerpt:
IRS updated Get My Payment (GMP) for individuals who are receiving the second Economic Impact Payment on January 5, 2021. If you checked GMP on or after January 5 then:
- If GMP reflects a direct deposit date and partial account information, then your payment is deposited there.
- If GMP reflects a date your payment was mailed, it may take up to 3 – 4 weeks for you to receive the payment. Watch your mail carefully for a check or debit card. (See the FAQ for EIP Card)
- If GMP shows "Payment Status #2 – Not Available," then you will not receive a second Economic Impact Payment and instead, you need to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 Tax Return.
Because of the speed at which the law required the IRS to issue the second round of Economic Impact Payments, some payments may have been sent to an account that may be closed or, is or no longer active, or unfamiliar. By law, the financial institution must return the payment to the IRS; they cannot hold and issue the payment to an individual when the account is no longer active. If Get My Payment shows "Payment Status #2 – Not Available" you will not receive a second EIP.
The IRS advises people that if they don't receive their Economic Impact Payment, they should file their 2020 tax return electronically and claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their tax return to get their payment and any refund as quickly as possible.

so as far as you know the problem I had not receiving the stumulus' ( due to not filing taxes over the past few years) should be fixed .since the irs will now have my current deposit information on file. Correct?
The IRS will have your current address and banking information if you have already filed your 2020 Federal 1040 tax return. Is that what you mean?
If you are eligible to receive an Economic Impact Payment and either:
you will need to file a 2020 tax return and claim the Recovery Rebate Credit even if you otherwise are not required to file a tax return.
The best way to file a complete and accurate return is to file electronically. The tax software will ask you questions about your income, credits and deductions and will help you figure your Recovery Rebate Credit.
If your income is $72,000 or less, you can use brand-name software to prepare and file your Federal tax return electronically for free with IRS Free File. IRS Free File is a great option for people who are only filing a tax return to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit. TurboTax has a Free File version.
The safest and fastest way to get a tax refund (which would include your Recovery Rebate Credit) is to combine electronic filing with direct deposit.
