Filing post extension with amended w2c

I have filed for tax extension as I was waiting for an updated w2. I have paid the federal tax that I owed. I now have got the updated w2c from my employer. How do I proceed? Should I just update my original w2 with the updated w2c and complete my tax return or should I opt for any other way like tax amendment?

Also, currently my extension is set for withdrawing the money on Apr 1, 2024 but I luckily got the amended tax form today. Is there a way I can cancel the extension as the money is not yet withdrawn from my account? This way I can just actually pay my taxes without having the extension process

why file and then amend? you can update the W-2 and e-file as usual. Just make sure that any extension payment is included on the return. Turbotax does not assume that it was paid.

you cannot cancel the extension only the payment. filing early will not cause issues because of the extension.

To cancel a payment you scheduled with your federal tax extension, you have a few options:

  1. Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS):

  2. Authorized Electronic Funds Withdrawal (EFW):
