I discovered that Turbo Tax deleted half the property tax I paid ($4000) before I submitted the return electronically. Before I amended the return, both the federal and state owned me a refund. Now after I amended the return to show I paid over $4000 more in real estate taxes, the Amended forms show that the fed and state owe me zero refunds. How is that possible?

The amended return only shows changes from your original return, so it resets the Refund Meter to zero when you start.
State/local/property taxes are capped at a combined $10,000, so that may be why TT "deleted" some of what you entered. Even so, you might still be below the Standard deduction, or your taxable income was already at zero.
Thanks for the response.
Does this mean that I will still receive the refunds shown in the original e-filing of my federal and state taxes?
In the Amendment, Turbo Tax shows everything reset to zero in the program's running totals, though none of the original entries had changed (other than my showing the additional taxes I paid).
However, despite the running totals being reset to zero, when I get to the end of the turbo tax program, it still shows the original refunds that I am owed.
Is this a Turbo Tax thing? Does that make sense?
