Filed 2019 tax form and was accepted. Found an error for mileage driven for medical appointments, Changed that via 1040X. Do I need to send money with the 1040X?

Yes, you can, but ideally you'll wait to file your amended return until after you get a refund or verify the payment of your original return. It's possible that the IRS will change the amount due, or refund owed, on your original return.
