E-Filing Federal Amended Return for 2020

I filed my original joint return for 2020 electronically. Now I'd like to amend the joint return to file MFS. May I file the amended return electronically? TT appears to indicate that I need to file the amended return by paper in one place and electronically in another place. Please clarify.

You will not be able to  e-file an amended return. A paper form must be mailed in. 

You should consider filing an amended tax return if there is a change in your filing status, income, deductions or credits. 

Note:  If you file as married filing jointly with your spouse, you cannot file a amended form with the married filing separately status after the filing deadline has passed.
