Do I need to amend my taxes if I entered the wrong info about how long I had health coverage? Ive seen things about receiving refund then amending, will I pay back money after I amend? I am not see how this works. I have never had to amend my taxes before

If the information that you entered was incorrect, then - yes - you will need to amend your tax return for the correct information. You say you entered wrong information about health coverage, so it may or may not cause you to owe money back depending on exactly what was wrong.
To keep it simple, let's say that the incorrect information does cause you to owe money. The amendment process will work like this - (1) you will have filed your original return and you will receive whatever refund was owed to you, and (2) then, after you receive your refund, you will file an amended return and have to pay back whatever money is owed. And, it is best to wait until you have received your refund before your amend to make sure that there aren't any other issues with your tax return that would need amending - you don't want to have to amend twice.
