Did my amendment on my 2016 tax return go through?

I'm not seeing anything updated in terms of what my tax return is after amending my tax return with my student loan interest paid deduction.... Is there any way to check that the information is being posted to the IRS?

If you filed a 2016 tax return and then changed it before it was accepted or rejected, your original return is still being held until the IRS starts accepting returns on Jan. 23 and nothing has been changed on it. You cannot change an efiled return unless it is rejected by the IRS. If it is accepted, you must wait until TurboTax releases the amended tax form 1040X in mid February before you can begin the amending process. An amended return must be printed and mailed. It cannot be efiled.
