I was trying to e-file my Amended 2021 return and like everyone else, found out you cannot despite TurboTax 2022 stating in the application several times you could. Of course, I ran into that same problem with the date signature not being accepted.
So Ok, I'll mail it. Only I have a concern. I understand the IRS will not direct deposit a refund on an amended return. I see also TurboTax printed out the Federal return with none of my routing and account information on the papers I am going to mail. Good.
But, on my state return, low and behold, Turbo Tax prints out a SC8453 "Individual Income Tax Declaration for Electronic Filing" and my routing number and account number are printed clearly on it.
Why? I am concerned if the return were lost, this valuable information could be compromised. Is this page necessary if I am mailing both returns?
