Oh, that's a no-no!! You should not file on the basis of pay stubs. You should wait on any W-2's, 1099's (if applicable), etc. to arrive before finishing and filing your return. The W-2 may not match the pay stubs and could have additional info that you might need. If you were to file with pay stubs and end up needing to amend the return, that can be a hassle to prepare and can delay a Federal refund for weeks/months. Your employer has until January 31 to get the W-2 to you. In the meantime, if you wish, you could enter info into the program to get an idea of what you might expect, but you later need to go over everything again when you get the actual W-2's, 1099's, etc. to revise any figures, if needed, before submitting the return.
There's no hurry to file now. The IRS doesn't open up to start processing efiled returns until the last week of January. If you were to efile now, it would just sit on TurboTax servers, and if you discovered a mistake, you would not be able to retrieve it.
And you cannot get a refund advance (if you are offered one) until an efiled return is accepted by the IRS when they open up for processing in late January. They do accept a small number of returns a few days earlier than that for testing purposes, but the odds are low. In any case, you should use the actual W-2's, etc. to prepare the return.
