Can anyone offer advice? My husband and I (married 2023) filed on time his year and received a CP14 notice that we owe the exact amount we paid. Why is it showing unpaid?

His bank account shows the money was pulled the day after we filed. Rec'd letter 6/12 and it shows due 6/24. My only guess is we received this in error due to paying with a debit card (which I've heard can make it take longer to process due to third parties) or since it was our first time filing as married, which I've heard can also make the processing take longer. Any advice/guidance?

I would first call the IRS to see if the payment caught up with their records in which case nothing needs to be done. if not, then on or before 6/19 to avoid the next automatically generated notice would be to respond to the first notice (follow the instructions for refuting that you owe) with a letter stating that the amount was paid and include the bank statement that would show the payment.
