Santa Barbara Tax Product Group shouldn't even exist neither should the option to "pay with my federal refund." When this option is chosen there is no information about how it works. Things like if something goes wrong with your refund they will use your direct deposit information as a way to WITHDRAW the Turbo Tax fees which absolutely will happen after 63 days regardless of what is going on with the IRS. This is never told to the customer when that option is chosen. Turbo Tax makes it look like an innocent, convenient way to pay. It also gives the customer the impression that if they don't end up getting a refund, then they won't have to pay fees because since the option says "pay fees with refund" how are they going to get the money to pay fees if there is no refund. Oh they'll get it. By going the other way (Withdraw) with your "direct deposit" information. Again, this is a trick on the customer who is asked to enter information for "direct deposit." No where is the customer told that this information is also for "direct debit" of your fees. In the end, it is simply a con game on lower income people - most of whom quality for the FREE FILE anyway and shouldn't even be paying one dime to file a tax return. But they weren't told that they qualify for FREE FILE either and have effectively been kept in the dark as to exactly where FREE FILE is to be found which is at a completely different website that Turbo Tax conveniently does not have anywhere on its main site. So people are basically paying for water that is actually served free, you just have to know how to ask for it. The whole thing is one big fat screw you to millions of people. Meanwhile we have to read all this bull about how Turbo Tax "has your back"
during the coronavirus epidemic while they continue to pull this crap as we speak. Words are cheap. Turbo Tax has one back: THEIR OWN. We are fools for putting it up with this shady company and their slimy ways of getting people's money all over a TAX RETURN?!! Outrageous!

Those were part of the terms you agreed to when selecting the refund processing service. If you have received the notice that Turbo Tax will auto debit the fees from your account, please reach out to customer support as they are willing to look into this and delay that auto-debit.
