Amended return

My amended tax return was accepted march 2nd and the 22nd of this month will be 16 weeks, and I still have not gotten my refund from it yet, I just amended it to add my newest born child, why is it taking so long

amendments can easily take 20 weeks. according to the IRS dashboard, they are working on amendments submitted in March now, so hopefully it won't be that much longer. Suggest checking where is my amendment once a week,

"accepted" simply means the IRS acknowledged receipt; it does not mean it has been reviewed, processed or audited.
