Amended return

I completed my taxes and e-filed, I owe taxes but did not yet send my payment when I realized that I forgot to add a 1099 interest income.  I then amended my return and now owe a larger amount of taxes.  Will I now send in 2 payment vouchers?  The original voucher along with the newly generated voucher or is there a place on Turbotax where the amounts are combined onto one payment voucher?

Amended return

If you didn't pay the amount owed on your original return, enter 0 on form 1040X line 16 for tax paid with original return.

Line 20 will shown the amount you owe from the original and amended return.

The thing is, according to the forum, TurboTax amend makes it hard if not impossible to change Line 16.

Do you know the trick to make it work?

@tinachis

make sure the new "amount you owe" is only due to the increment you are reporting.

You can pay for "1040" and "1040-X on IRS make a payment page.

you don't need to mail a voucher.
