Hi Team,
Last year 2018, I filled my status as single for Tax Year 2017.
I came to US with my Wife on 2019, So I filed as Married filling Jointly for Tax Year 2018 ( Applied ITIN and sent mail for Paper filling ) Got my Wife ITIN too.
My Question is Now I can amend my Tax return for Tax Year 2017 and shall I change the filling status from Single to "married filling jointly" because now I have ITIN for my Wife?
Am I correct?
Thanks,
Gobinath

Not only can you do so you MUST do so ... if you filed SINGLE in 2017 when you were really married that was a big mistake ... so amend the return to change the filing status and add any income she had as well.
But that time my wife were in India, She does not have ITIN, I got ITIN this year only. Still its possible to Change my Status from Single to Married filling Jointly for 2017 tax year ..?
