HVAC that was installed in oct 2017

Hello Everyone,

I am doing my taxes first time by myself and I have a question regarding HVAC unit that was installed in 2017 ( High Efficiency Furnace). I did not claim installation of high efficiency savings in 2017 taxes. Can I claim it on my 2018 taxes? If yes what do i need to do?

No, you can't claim any credit in 2018 for your HVAC system installed in 2017. You would need to amend your 2017 tax return to claim a Nonbusiness Energy Property Tax Credit.
