Is the total as $1500 for Schedule B combined of interest and dividend or separately?

Hi there,

I am not sure about the IRS instructions for the Schedule B filing requirement ("You had over $1,500 of taxable interest or ordinary dividends") so I searched online but saw different interpretations.

So let's say I have $1400 interest and $1400 dividend (both from US source), is Schedule B needed?

I can see where the "or" can be misleading.  If you received a combined total of $1500 or more from your interest and/or dividends then Schedule B is needed to report this income.
