Paying by Direct Debit of My Checking Account

I owe money to the State of California for 2017. I did the TTax process for direct debit from my checking account. But when I saw the price to e-file a state return, I decided to mail it in. Will the direct debit of my payment still work if I didn't e-file? The mail-in instructions talk about my sending in a check. I don't want to end up paying twice. Thanks for any advice!

Paying by Direct Debit of My Checking Account

Since you didn't e-file the return the direct debit information was not submitted to California. You'll need to include the payment with your paper return, or go to ftb.ca.gov/pay if you want to pay your tax bill online.
