@Sparty girl I did claim my son as a dependent, but did not qualify for the EIC.

Accepted 1/13/17 and still pending but I did receive my direct deposit for my California state return in my bank account on Saturday 1/21/17.

I thought it was just my son's. Glad to see more have the same issue! Hoping it's a good sign since not just 1 person getting the updated message.
