Data from Form 1099-MISC is reported in the Wages & Income section of your tax return, typically on Schedule 1 (Form 1040) or Schedule C for business income if self-employed. This includes rents, royalties, prizes, and other miscellaneous income.
Information from Form 1099-B—such as summary of proceeds, gains and losses, adjustments, and withholding—is reported first on Form 8949, which then flows to Schedule D (Capital Gains and Losses). These forms capture detailed investment transactions and tax withholding related to sales of stocks, bonds, or other securities.
In TurboTax Online, enter your 1099-MISC under Wages & Income in the 1099-MISC and Other Common Income section. For 1099-B data, use the Investment Income section under Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other to accurately report all sales, adjustments, gains or losses, and withholding.
