self employment tax

I have completed my return and I have +refund. But why am i not paying self employment taxes? 1040 Amount i owe is zero. Taxable income is zero. But in schedule SE and C i do have numbers! is this normal?

How to understand how much self employment tax to pay looking at Schedule SE???
