Tax Withholding on Income

I have made a few thousand dollars in income from some part time work. No taxes were withheld. Withholding on other income should be more than enough to cover any tax liability on the part time work. Am I still required to report the income and send withholding to the IRS?

Tax Withholding on Income

Hello @Gcalexander!

Thank you for the question.  You will report the income/expenses on your tax return in the self employment section. However, if your withholdings on your W-2 job will cover your tax liability, you do not need send in the estimated quarterly taxes.

You can estimate your tax liability using this tool to be sure! https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/calculators/taxcaster/

I hope this helps!
