I realized that on some previous years, I filed my taxes under the wrong status (I should have listed my online ESL teaching income as self-employed). So I need to file amended returns for those years because of social security. I use TurboTax, and was able to redo one return on their website but for any years prior to 2017, I can't use TurboTax online. I don't know what tax forms to use-- especially since they change from year to year.
Additionally, I DO live abroad (by my choice, not because of my job) and some years I never went back to the U.S., so I was wondering if my tax status changed during that period.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @Toben ,
You are correct, unfortunately you cannot use Turbo Tax Online for years 2019 and prior.
Follow this link to purchase desktop software from 2019, 2018, and 2017.
Even though forms change year to year you can always reach out to a tax expert while you work on these returns with specific questions! The interview process should handle the residency questions once you provide all the information, dates of residency, etc.
