I can't access my wife's Self-employment income and expenses only my own. How do I access her info so I can enter the income and expenses?

I've imported my self-employment income and expenses from Quickbooks self employed but now when I click on "review" it only brings up my information and I can't enter my wife's self-employment information.

You can print her income statement from QuickBooks and manually enter her business income and expense by selecting to Add another line of work to include her self employment activity. 

  1. Open or continue your return
  2. Search for schedule c and select the Jump to link in the search results
  3. Answer Yes to Did you have any self-employment income or expenses?
    • If you've already entered self-employment work and need to enter more, select Add another line of work
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions (see the image below).

You can use your 2021 tax return for assets or other items from the self employment activity for your wife that should be carried each year.

I can't access my wife's Self-employment income and expenses only my own. How do I access her info so I can enter the income and expenses?

Doesn't work.  Seems my TurboTax is stuck in a loop.  When I select Self-employment income, it asks me to confirm the vehicle I used in my own LLC and when I select the vehicle, it takes me directly to my self-employment income with no option to add her information.

It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2022" file that is experiencing this issue.

 

You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information.  If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: 

 

Go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools. 

  1. Then select Tools below Tax Tools. 
  2. A window will pop up which says Tools Center.  
  3. On this screen, select Share my file with Agent. 
  4. You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number. 
  5. Reply to this thread with your Token number. This will allow us to open a copy of your return without seeing any personal information.  

We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.
