1099Q - Room & Board

Hello! My hubs and I used a 529 plan to pay for my most of my daughter's college tuition and room & board in 2021. The rest was out of pocket.  When TT prompts me to enter Room & Board both when filing out the 1099 Q as well as the 1098 T, it seems like it is "double dipping". Is this correct?

1099Q - Room & Board

In the 1098-T section, TurboTax asks about room and board to have a complete list of education expenses. The program knows that room and board are not qualified education expenses.

In the 1099-Q section, room and board can be used as expenses to justify your 529 distributions.

There will be no double-dipping.
