You can start paying quarterly taxes at any time. If you need to make quarterly estimated payments, the next payment is due by September 15 for the third quarter of 2023.
TurboTax can help you calculate the amount you may need to pay. However, you cannot actually make the payments through TurboTax. There are several options for making your quarterly payments.
1. You can pay via IRS Direct Pay.
2. You can set up an EFTPS account and pay through EFTPS.
3. You can print out form 1040-ES, fill it out and mail it to the IRS with a check.
If you prepared your return in TurboTax last year and expected to owe this year, TurboTax should have automatically created the 1040-ES forms for you to use. You can print those out from the Print Center by signing in to your TurboTax account.
