I took paid leave and received a 1099 Misc from the Employment Dept, when I enter it do I answer yes or no on the question did in involve intent to earn money?
If I answer yes its included as Self employed and Section Schedule C but its not self employed income?

You should answer no.
Here are the steps to report family leave so your return does not show self-employment:
Navigate to Federal > Wages & Income > Other Common Income> Form 1099-MISC> Start or Revisit
Enter the 1099-MISC as printed, Continue
Describe the reason for this 1099-MISC: "Paid Family Leave" or similar
Select None of these uncommon situations apply, then continue
Select No, it didn’t involve work that's like your main job and continue
The next screen asks how often you get income from Paid Family Leave. Select only the year of this specific 1099-MISC, 2024.
