I received NY State paid family leave, but they sent a 1099-MISC form and now turbotax is saying it's self employment. I wasn't self employed and I don't 'know what to do

Why would it be self employed when I was receiving payment? How is it self employment?

This would go in the "Other Common Income" In TurboTax Online. Please delete the 1099-Misc.

Follow these steps:

1. Sign into your TurboTax account.
2. Go to Tax Tools in the left panel.
3. Select Tools.
4. Select Delete a form.
5. Delete the 1099-Misc.
6. Sign out of your account and sign back in.
7. Go to Wages and Income.
8. Scroll down to Other Common Income and click Show more.
9. Select 1099-Misc and click Start.
10. Continue with the interview.
