How to write off Exercise Equipment with doctor's note

How can I write off exercise equipment as a self-employed owner of a consulting company. It is medically necessary due to car accident while working.

My medical insurance does not qualify for HSA.

How to write off Exercise Equipment with doctor's note

Hi Tarbender,

Medical expenses are deducted as an itemized deduction on Schedule A, whether you are self-employed or not. There is no special way to deduct medical expenses just because you are self-employed. Medical expenses incurred for your own health care are a personal expense, not a business expense.

I hope this information is helpful.
