How do I change my status from Self Employed to Unemployed

If you don't have self-employment income, be sure you don't have Schedule C in your return. Otherwise, your employment status isn't reported on your return.

You can also downgrade your return if you are no longer self-employed.

1. From the left column, open "Switch Products" and choose "Downgrade."
2. The next screen explains the program will keep most of your information, but you may need to re-enter some of it. 
3. Once you confirm that is what you want to do, you will be taken back to the beginning of the return and you will need to review and possibly re-enter some of your information.
