Do I need to file a California return as a sole proprietor?

I don't meet the minimum income requirement for California taxes, but I am a sole proprietor. Am I required to file based on that, or still exempt?

If you are under the filing threshold for filing a California return, you are not required to file just because you have self-employment income.
