Can I deduct health insurance premium on Schedule C if I am self-employed and get health insurance through my spouse's company?

I am self-employed, and my spouse is a full time W-2 worker.

Both my son and I are enrolled in my spouse’s company health insurance. We still pay $900 after tax every month for the premium.

Here is the research I did:

“If you have access to participate in an employer-sponsored subsidized health plan, you won’t be eligible for this deduction. The employer in this case could be someone you or your spouse works for. If the plan is sponsored by either employer, it means your health insurance premiums aren’t tax deductible. (Note: A subsidized plan is one where the employer pays a portion of the premium.)”

So we cannot take the $900 deduction on schedule C even though we paid it out-of-pocket?

Thank you for your help!

Correct. You can’t take the deduction on Sch C but it can be a medical deduction on Sch A if you itemize.
