Business in Montana, I live in Idaho, have to file an amendment

Had to do an Amendment to my 2022 return, first time I've had to file as an LLC in another state. I already filed for my personal taxes and refunds form state and fed are here and cleared. I pulled no income from the business in Montana so after I did the Amendment  says $0 and $0? I am assuming I still need to file the amendment but when I go to finish it up TT says I cant file online and have to mail it in to Idaho. Is there something I am missing here? Isn't there something I need to send to the feds? Also when I do send everything off do I send my entire return? Or is there an amendment section that i need only to send? Any advise would be appreciated

Also, the Montana business had a big loss last year and as stated above I received no income from it, it survives on its own.

If you have zero dollars in income and zero dollars in expenses you have no filing requirement.  Not for the federal return or the state.  That is why you're being required to mail it - it's a zero dollar tax return and the system won't process those.

If you have a loss that you're trying to carry forward or back then you do have a filing requirement in order to report that.  But that would be the only reason.

If you decide to file the state return anyway then you should attach a complete copy of the federal return to it and mail the whole thing in that way.

Thanks for the reply. We did have expenses and income, but our expenses were higher than income. I have employees that work for me in the shop but they run it and I only advise but I don't take any type of income from the business. Just want to make sure I'm looking at this correctly. Last thing I want is to trigger an issue with the you know who's.
