If I get a 1099-K from Square or PayPal or Venmo from selling baked goods, are they paying the taxes to my state on what I have earned? (I live in Vermont.) Thank you!

You are responsible for any tax on your income.
So, they do not collect the tax and pay it on my behalf?
I'm not a tax person, but I do sell on eBay. They collect and keep the state sales tax on the items you sell. What they do with it is beyond me, though.
