Nevermind! I figured it out! turbotax does do a pretty good job of explaining all that when you go farther through the system

Actually, correction, I did just get it to ask me if I want to file as a "part-year resident" or a "part-year nonresident", saying:Filing as "part-year resident...

It doesn't seem to give me that option, i just went back and reset it and its just treating it like I'm filing as a resident for the full year
