I went through Lending Club. You need fairly good credit to get a loan but not perfect. I had about 671 credit score when I got the loan. Funds deposited in less than a week. Payment auto debit so I’ll never miss a payment. Better but not great interest rate. Depends on your credit score. But I’m making my way to debt freedom. Hope this helped

Contact each bureau and report it. They will investigate it and delete it if it’s fraudulent. Good luck.

Closed accounts stay on report for 7-10 years. If the payment history is positive, leave it. Otherwise you can try a credit repair company but unless the info is incorrect, they may not guarantee any change.

Consider paying the balance before the statement closing date instead of when the payment is due. This will show a lower reported balance to the bureaus each month.

Secured cards are great for beginners. However, if you get a card preapproval offer by mail for an unsecured card, take it if the terms and intro offer is reasonable. Use the first card to your advantage. Don’t rack up debt. Use it wisely. Good luck.

Well check with lenders to see who has the best terms and rates for your size of loan. Student loans usually have low interest rates so it doesn’t always make sense to refinance. Also medical bills from hospitals usually let you make payments with no interest. Consolidating them with a loan might not be a good idea.

I am currently doing this. Small loan but I made sure to get an interest rate lower than the cards. Also I pay less per month than with all the cards. Most importantly, do NOT rack up new debt on those cards and do NOT close them. It should help your credit score too.

Yeah starting out creates some dings to the credit file but with on time payments you should see it rebound. Inquiries hurt more on new or limited credit history. After a year they’ll stop hurting the score so much and two years they disappear. Good luck.

Yes. Secured card helps. Save up the biggest deposit they will let you make. Spend less than 10% of the limit and pay in full each month. Discover has a great secured card as do many other issuers. Eventually they may change it to an unsecured card. Do some research first. Good luck!
