Turbotax 2017 software crashing (mac)

So I tried to file state taxes, and Turbotax said that I needed to download the state software. When I click download Turbotax crashes. I've tried the solution on https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/installing/help/remove-uninstall-turbotax-for-mac/00/26050, but it didn't work. Any solutions or suggestions?

If you have trouble downloading your TurboTax for Mac federal or state programs, follow all of the following steps, and then try downloading again after completing each one.

Using wireless?

If your wireless connection is interrupted or isn't working, you won't be able to successfully e-file, update, and/or download TurboTax.

For this reason, we recommend using a wired, broadband connection with your TurboTax CD/Download software.

Here's a few things you can do if you're having problems e-filing, updating, or downloading TurboTax on a wireless connection:

(Recommended) Switch to a wired connection, if one is available.
Open a new Internet browser session and try visiting sites that you haven't visited for a while.
- If you can't access other sites, try restarting your wireless router.
- If you're still having problems, power down your computer, your router, and your modem, in that order. Wait a minute or two, then power up your modem. Wait another minute, then power up your router and then your computer.

I have this same issue and it's nothing to do with an interrupted download. Turbotax crashes before I'm even able to get to the download... it happens before I can even make the purchase. I have a feeling it's because the 2017 software isn't compatible with my current version of ios, and I have no idea how to overcome this. I can't find the state software separately on the Turbotax site to try to download it separately.

If anyone has ideas I would be eternally grateful!!!
