If you have not e-filed (or you e-filed and it was rejected) and you also haven't sent in a paper return, you can file your tax return any way you choose. Please see the info I added to my answer above.
Where do I find my case number?
The number that I can see is only 8 digit long GEN87459. Please let me know!
You have to contact Product Support to obtain a case number. Look at the second FAQ that says 'contact Product Support for nine digit case number.' After you obtain that number from Product Support, follow the steps in the final FAQ to deactivate your account.
are you saying that i need to pay $19.99 and get plus benefit talk to an agent get a case number, then deactivate my account.
Here is another solution. Your tax return has not been filed and will not be filed unless you go through the entire FILE section to submit it. You can manually DELETE all personal info in the My Info section and the account will go dormant.
I need my case number to see where's my refund
@ArringtonMab Not sure what you are looking for. There is no such thing as a "case number" with TurboTax.
To use the IRS refund site you need your Social Security number, your filing status and the exact amount of your refund from line 35a of your Form 1040.
If you cannot find your tax return because you have forgotten how to access your account, use the account recovery tool.
You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.
Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2020 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
