So I made an account to see my account transcripts and this message came out on my irs account.

Your 2019 Tax Return Has Not Been Processed

If you've already filed, processing usually takes 21 days (electronic returns) or six weeks (paper returns).

If you still need to file, submit your tax return along with any payment due by April 15, 2020to avoid potential penalties and interest. If you've been affected by a recent disaster, learn about the most recent tax relief provisions to know your options.

I did look at the actual account transcripts and there is nothing on there besides a date that says “as of” March 23, 2020. A few days ago it said March 16, 2020

I filed mine January 23rd, if you are like me and filed an EIC OR Child Credit, they don't even touch your return until February 15th, and from then it's 21 business days from then. So for all of us who filed early if you used either credit your tax returns weren't even touched until February 15th. For me 21 business days puts me on st Patrick's day for you it would be somewhere around the 25th of this month. If you used credit that is. If not and 6 weeks goes by you have to contact IRS and report problem. Hope that helps you

How do you know this information?

Ok..copy and paste or computer generated msg are very old. It's been longer than what they guaranteed. 21 days and I know many people who already got their tax return and  they filed after me through different people. If your company had issues just own up to it and admit.

You're best option is to contact the IRS, they now have your tax return, not TurboTax.

Here's DoninGA's instructions to call the IRS.

"Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Then press 4 for personal or individual tax questions.
It should then transfer you to an agent."

The IRS issues most refunds in about 21 days, although some returns take more time to review. If it has been more than 21 days since your return was accepted, you can call the IRS directly to check on your refund status.

How do I contact the Internal Revenue Service (IRS ...

It means the IRS is still working on or reviewing your return, and that when they are finished, and the refund ready to be sent, they'll post a refund date.

Update on my situation.

My return was accepted February 12th.

Yesterday I received a letter from the IRS stating I needed to send in more documents for them to process my return properly.

If you had a tax credit expect a long wait and letter if you have not filed with the necessary documents. Same thing happened last year.

So I filed on 2/24/2020 it was accepted that same day. A few days later all the bars disappeared and it said “Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available.“ I just waited but nothing. I eventually got a letter from the IRS needing me to verify my identity. I was able to successfully complete that process online following the instructions on their website. It has now been 3 weeks since I verified my identity I checked WMR this morning and it says “We have received your tax return and it is being processed.“ How long do I have to keep waiting this is getting ridiculous at this point I think I’ll be receiving that stimulus check before my taxes.

Also I check my tax transcripts but it says nothing just April 13, 2020 and it’s not even April 13th yet... What does that date mean it keeps changing a few days ago it said April 6......

The IRS posted on their website "We are continuing to process tax returns, issue refunds and help taxpayers to the greatest extent possible." Please refer to the following link for an update on what's happening.
