If you need your AGI to continue filing, please go to https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript and select the option to order a transcript online. Please keep in mind the only place to see your AGI is on your 2016 tax return or an IRS Tax Transcript. Please see the attached TurboTax FAQ for more information regarding AGI's.

@mariohmatoss80  Please see this TurboTax Help topic on ways to access your prior-year return or obtain an IRS transcript.

@mariohmatoss80

No one has access to your past tax returns or your account so no one can tell you what your income was for a past year.  You should always save your own W-2's and/or 1099's that show your income so that you can refer to them when the need arises.  If you need a copy of a past year return, you will have to wait until sometime in December when the transition from 2018 to 2019 is complete.  You cannot get PLUS until then in order to access your previous year returns.

I NEED A COPY OF MY W-2  (or 1099)

TurboTax does not have a copy of your W-2—the Wage & Tax Statement—issued to you by your employer, (nor does TurboTax have copies of your 1099’s).   You should always save those documents for your own records. You could ask the employer(s) for copies or you can get a copy from Social Security (for a fee of $86).

If you saved a pdf of your completed tax return, the worksheets will show the W-2 information you entered, but not the actual W-2.

To get a copy of a W-2 from Social Security https://faq.ssa.gov/en-us/Topic/article/KA-02501

https://www.irs.gov/help-resources/tools-faqs/faqs-for-individuals/frequently-asked-tax-questions-answers/irs-procedures/transcript-or-copy-of-form-w-2/transcript-or-copy-of-form-w-2

You can get a wage and income transcript from the IRS:  It will not show the actual W-2, 1099’s, etc, but will show the income information the IRS received.  It will not, however, show your state information. It will only show the federal information.

If you are asking how to determine how much you made during 2019, you should receive either a W2 form,  if you were an employee, or a 1099 form,  if you were a contractor and earned more than $599.

If you have not received these forms, and don't receive them in the next week or so, you should contact your employers and request these forms and/or an accounting of what was paid to you.  (They are required to be mailed to you by January 31st)

If you had a checking account and deposited the checks/funds you received into the account, you can obtain those bank statements or request a transaction list from your bank and add up your deposits from your work.

xmasbaby0 provided the additional links to obtain copies of your W2 or tax transcripts from Social Security and IRS.

How can I find out what I made last year 2018

@Rodriguezamy0118

The easiest way to find out what you made in 2018 is to look at your copy of your 2018 tax return - this is one reason we strongly urge taxpayers to keep a copy of their tax return either electronically in PDF or printed on paper.

The second way to find out what you made in 2018 is to look at the link that BrandiLO gave above on how to get a transcript from the IRS.

@Emmitt2021

W-2's come from your employer, and they have until Jan. 31 to issue it.  Some employers allow you to import the W-2 through the software, but for security reasons you still need information from the actual W-2 to import it.  You might need to phone, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.

Other ways to get W-2’s:

Pay Social Security $86 per W-2:

https://www.irs.gov/help-resources/tools-faqs/faqs-for-individuals/frequently-asked-tax-questions-answers/irs-procedures/transcript-or-copy-of-form-w-2/transcript-or-copy-of-form-w-2

You can get a wage and income transcript from the IRS:  It will not show the actual W-2, 1099’s, etc, but will show the income information the IRS received.  It will not, however, show your state information. It will only show the federal information.

You can check your copy of your 2019 tax return to see your income from 2019. If you are looking for the 2019 AGI to file your 2020 return that is found on line 8b.

Your total income will be found on line 7b of your 2019 form 1040.

You might also order an online transcript of your tax return from the IRS.  Here is a link for that request.
