Not true. Literally all of my info was erased after having spent 1.5 hours on this. Was redirected to the very first Welcome page and was asked to enter my personal info so y’all can “Get to Know, Kelly!” Again.
I also was basically finished and just logged in to double check and I am not seeing any information here?
This is a lie... spent 3 hours doing my taxes and when logged back in had to start completely over!
That’s common to end up with multiple accounts. First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you’re logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID’s for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery/">https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery/</a>
do not see "My Account" tab. Having to start over with 2017 return I'm just now doing.
You can no longer use online software to prepare a 2017 return.
Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2017 returns is now permanently closed. You had until midnight on Monday, October 15 to finish and attempt to e-file; if your e-file was rejected you had until 3 a.m. Pacific time on October 21 to make corrections and re-file. Now it is too late to e-file. If you have any changes at all to make to your 2017 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac (not to a mobile device).

Some users are having trouble accessing their 2017 tax files while the TT system is in transition from 2017 to 2018. You may have to wait to re-gain access to your tax file.

When you complete your 2017 return, it has to be filed by mail. When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS and/or your state received the return
I loaded TurboTax 2019, transferred from 2018, did initial checklist. Would not save the results . . . lost entries.
This is a new forum layout. Some posts that have June 2019 dates are really older posts from the old forum that got moved over. So they might be for prior years and not current info. When they migrated over the dates got changed to June 2019. And the screen shots got deleted.
So so please give more details. Like Windows or Mac and OS. I just downloaded the Windows Home & Business on Windows 8.1 and transferred a 2018 return and saved it no problems.
If you are having issues logging in, you can recover your account. To recover your account, you will need to provide either your phone number(recommended), email address, or User ID. same here. I built up most of the return in april and decided to wait until the July extension. And guess what, nothing there. All the multiple accounts and recovery tips are BS
Not true. NOTHING IS SAVED!
This is the second year in a row where hours of entering tax information were not saved.
Total waste of time.
If Turbo Tax actually has someone to discuss this..please contact me...otherwise I will never use this crappy program again.
Sorry---you missed the October 15 deadline to start a 2019 return using online TurboTax. You cannot use online now until it is time to start a new 2020 return. And online will only be for a 2020 return--no earlier year.
To prepare and file a 2019 return:
Online preparation and e-filing for 2017, 2018 and 2019 is permanently closed.

If you need to prepare a return for 2017, 2018, or 2019 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign, and mail the return(s)
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/
You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.

Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
Note: The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac. It cannot be used on a mobile device.
If you are getting a refund, there is not a penalty for filing past the deadline. If you owe taxes, the interest/penalties will be calculated by the IRS based on how much you owe and when they receive your return and payment. The IRS will bill you for this; it will not be calculated by TurboTax.
If you want to file for free you can fill out the forms by hand. Here are some basic forms.....
Here is the 2019 1040 return

Don’t forget your state. And you will have to print and mail your returns. So be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.
You can finish using desktop software. If you already paid your Online TurboTax fees
you can get a download from customer support for free.

So you don't need to start over from scratch ... download the .taxfile from the online system now so you can open it in the downloaded program.
I have had to retart my return three times and each time I save it, but when I return to continue, nothign is saved.
Having the same problem. I purchased the PC version. I waited almost 50 minutes to talk to a CS and it got disconnected within 2 minutes. Said it's a know issue and their IT is trying to address it, that's all I heard before get disconnected. This is very frustrating!
If you are using Turbo Tax Online it will save your progress as you go.
If you are using the CD/desktop you will need to save a copy of the return when you are done for the day, or it will be lost.
