Once a TurboTax account is created, it cannot be deleted. You can simply abandon it.
If you'd like to clear any data that you may have entered into the program, you can use the "Clear and Start Over" feature. See instructions below.
You won't be able to delete your TurboTax account but you may request to have it deactivated, if you would like for it to be deactivated please contact us.
If you want to have your data deleted from TurboTax/Intuit go to: accounts.intuit.com, scroll down to Data & Privacy, to "Delete your intuit data" and press continue for steps of this process.
To stop emails from TurboTax you will need to change your account preferences:
My old email was hacked so I can’t access it so I made a new one but it won’t let me file with the new account because it says my social has already been used . What can I do ?
Do you mean you e-filed your return and rejected because your social has been used? If so, you need to contact the IRS and mail in your return. Here is an IRS link for full information.
If you are having trouble with your Turbo Tax account, use this link: Account Recovery Request for your Turbo Tax Account.
You can remove all entries and start over or remove all entries and abandon your TurboTax account.
Click Tax Tools, then Clear and start over at the bottom left of the screen.
You can also click on Intuit Account in the lower left hand corner of the screen. Click on the options down the left side to remove personal information.

TurboTax online accounts cannot be deleted.
I need to delete my Turbo tax account completely so I am able to use H& R block using my SSN so the IRS will accept my federal return please
It depends.
Did you already file a tax return and e-file it?
If so, you can't e-file again using another service.
Please see the following link for instructions on how to clear your return if you have not filed yet.
@JeanneLO Keep getting "password_invalid" when I try to "delete my intuit data" under data & Privacy.
@Anonymous Not sure what you are trying to do, since you added to an existing thread that has posts from various other people on it already. You cannot delete a TurboTax account. You can try to clear out any 2019 data you entered if you did not register or pay. Or you can just abandon the account. No one else has access to it; no one will be able to change or do anything with the account.

@xmasbaby0I am confused?? I am aware that deleting an account is not possible I was replying to @Jeanne LO who said: "f you want to have your data deleted from Turbo Tax/Intuit go to: accounts.intuit.com, scroll down to Data & Privacy, to "Delete your intuit data" and press continue for steps of this process." and I replied saying I am unable to do that because I keep getting "password_invalid" ???
@Anonymous OK---the person you were trying to reply to is likely a seasonal employee who is gone now, so do not expect a response. You might have used the wrong password to get in to your account.
Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

@xmasbaby0 The password is 100% correct and I even changed my password and still did not work. I have been told it was a glitch in the system but never got a response back.
No I did not forget how to access my account and I only have one. Log out why?
