Missing 2021 Form 1116

I am using TurboTax 2021 Home & Business Desktop version for Mac.

Last week when I tried to complete Foreign Tax Credit Form 1116 I received an error message that the IRS had not yet completed the form and I should check back later.

Today I updated to Formset 2021.11607. Using EasyStep it now allows me to enter preliminary Foreign Tax Credit information to the point of selecting between a credit or deduction. When I choose the deduction option the EasyStep process stops, it defaults to the credit option, and will not complete Form 1116. I do not get an error message, just the warning “Do Not File” on the blank Form 1116.

Is this a known bug with this update?

Is TurboTax still waiting for the IRS to make Form 1116 available?

Form 1116, Foreign Tax Credit is estimated to be finalized on 03/03/2022

Now it looks like Form 1116 won't be ready until 3/322!

I posted a similar thread and am extremely frusterated with TT. Not only does the IRS have this form so does H&R tax software. Come TT get on it. Looks like I am not the only one waiting on just this form to file and the only holdup is TT. Looking to use H&R next at this point.

It should be painfully clear to all of us that the folks at Intuit simply do not care about us, apparently they feel that foreign tax payers are too small a group of people to matter...

I have updated turbotax today, 24 Feb 2022 and form 1116 is still not available. I hope they get this done quickly so I can finish my taxes.

I just went to the IRS website. Form 1116 and instructions are available for 2021. When will it be incorporated into Turbo Tax????

Question 2 is do I or should I wait to start the state return until the federal is complete or can I go back to the federal when form 1116 is incorporated into Turbo Tax????

I would wait till it is available. The 1040 also goes to State, you want those to be the same in case the 1116 changes your totals.

Let me guess: It will be available right after their Feb 28 promotion? Nice way to cheat their customers out of their $30 off discount. I'll rekey it all somewhere else. Totally worth getting out of this Intuit scam

Today is 2/24/2022. Form 1116 is till not ready for upload. Early March is expected date now.

February 25, 2022. My copy of TurboTax Deluxe still notifies me that the "IRS has yet to finalize the Form 1116, check back on TurboTax later". The IRS.gov website shows the 2021 Form 1116 as available.

Intuit/TurboTax needs to update the software to include the current Form 1116 and allow users to file their taxes electronically.

Form 1116 is not needed if the foreign tax withheld is less than #300/$600 for single/married file jointly. If the tax is below these amounts, just delete the form and file without it. I read the IRS rules Monday, deleted the form, E-filed the same day, IRS accepted it within a day, My refund was processed Thursday and expect a direct deposit next week. Next year I will probably delete the form as soon as the IRS releases and starts accepting the 2022 returns.

That is for the Form 1116 Sch B, Foreign Tax Carryover Reconciliation Schedule

The Form 1116, Foreign Tax Credit is still showing available on 03/03/2022

People here are saying that 1116 will hopefully be available by 3/3 and I was more of less ok with that. Now it seems there is a 1116 schedule B which will be available by 3/31. I understand that if you have a value on 1116 line 10 then you need that schedule. Is that correct? If it is, it changes the game a lot for me. Thank you .
