Social Secuity input screen will not appear, goes back to income screen.  how do I input SS amounts.

MonikaK1 provides great instructions above on items that may be causing your issue.  Clear your cookies and cache and check you meet the minimum requirements.  I have copies her post here for easy viewing:

at retirement plans and social security (SSA-1099) neither Start or Update gives access to input social security income.  All other input categories (for wages and income work for inputing data).  where do I

get help to input my social security income?  

You could try logging out of the program and logging back in. You can also clear your cache and cookies. Doing this often improves the functionality of the program.

I have the same issue. Next to my SSA-1099 line is grayed out "Update" button. When I click on this button, I get a blank screen. :(

The current 2025 program does not include social security as one of the income options to select. At the top of the list of incomes it says that social security is not transferable from the previous year so it is not included in the list. Interestingly, my 2024 social security data was transferred properly?  I think there is a glitch in the program.

Please advise.

As I just stated, Social Security is not available on the income list anymore so I can't select it!

Click on Federal on the left side of the online program screen

Click on Wages & Income

Scroll down to Retirement Plans & Social Security

On Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099), click the Start or Revisit button

If you are using the "Online" software....sometimes you have to click on some text towards the bottom of the main screen, to expand the screen to show the full menu of income items.   The text indicates something like "Add more income"

Social Security just blinks and does not open.

Desktop software   (MAC or Windows)?   Or Online software?

IF "Online" software, log off and try a different browser

IF Desktop, make sure all your Computer Operating System updates are fully installed, and make sure you reboot even if your OS appears to be up-to-date.

If it's still a problem, wait until after the 21 Jan software update to try again. (might end up being 22 Jan). 

If Desktop you do need to make sure you run the next TTX update before trying again.

@egaryellis    For Desktop, maybe Online is the same.

If you click on Visit All by Retirement Plans and SS you do get the message - This section will be ready soon.    But you can click on the next line down by Social Security to enter SS. I never use the Visit All button.

Wow...I've never used the Visit All selection in 25+ years (if it's been there that long)
