I filed 1040-X incorrectly, the original 1040 was correct! my 1040-X is till in processing at IRS. How can I withdraw my1040-X? please help.

Sorry--if you already filed the 1040X you cannot get it back--filing a tax return is just like putting an envelope in a U.S.mailbox -- once you put it in there, you cannot retrieve it. If the amended return is wrong, then the IRS will likely just not give you any additional refund for the 1040X. But...it takes the IRS four months or more to process an amended return.

Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.

If the IRS processes your 1040-X as-is, you will have file another 1040-X to undo the incorrect 1040-X. But first you have to wait until the IRS finishes processing the first 1040-X and you see what they do with it. They will send you a letter telling you the results of the first 1040-X. Wait until you get the letter.
