Submitted eFile before receiving 6419

When preparing my taxes, I entered the whole dollar amount of the Advance Child credit to the my line of the form since I'm the main filer on the return (married filing joint). I got the exact amount from the IRS portal. I e-filed because I had received everything else I needed for the tax year. Then I got the 6419 form and it split the distribution 50/50 between my wife and I. My federal return has been accepted.

But now I'm wondering if I need to file an amended return. Any thoughts?

Only the total amount of the advance child tax credit is entered on the tax return so there is no need for you to amend the 2021 tax return that you filed.

NO you do not amend your tax return.   And you cannot do that right now anyway.   Wait to see if your return is rejected or accepted.   If is is rejected you can correct your mistake.   If it is accepted, then you will just be waiting longer while the IRS cross checks the amount of CTC you received already and corrects your mistake.  The screens warned you that mistakes with the CTC would result in delays.

But.....look at your Form 1040 on line 28.    If you already got half of the CTC you should see the "second half" on line 28.   If that is the amount you see, you are okay.
