Okay. I am so nervous because it’s my fist time doing this. I filed my 2020 taxes by e-filing it through turbo tax. And now it’s saying i owe 600 where did that come from. I think I’m supposed to get at least 2,000 for my refund and also I didn’t qualify for the first or second stimulus but I’m supposed to get the 600 one. So at this point I am just confused. I’m stuck I think I messed up because I tried this twice with another account and I am not sure if I am going to get rejected from one of them because I was afraid that I messed up
I need help, because I filed twice with a different account and I am afraid I made I error while filing. Can I amend or delete it. Please help
I have to start all over again because i accidentally filed my return twice thinking that I made an error. Now I’m getting Two different things says I owe taxes which I don’t and I’m sitting here stuck and confusing I have to amend my return because I use my return by using two different emails.
do I have to wait until they except it or reject it? And how do I file my amend? It just seems to complicated. I just want to make sure I am getting me my refund right and things like that In order
If the return was already filed, do not try to file it again. Owing $600 involves what was reported.
Yes, you are correct, wait until the two filings are either accepted or rejected. Only the first one submitted will be accepted. The other one will automatically be rejected because the social security number was already submitted.
I actually did not take my daughter out of mr taxes. How can I fix that
To remove a dependent from your return, go to the left menu and select My Info. Scroll down to your dependent's information and click the Trash can icon to delete these details from your return.
TurboTax Who can I claim as my dependent? summarizes the rules, which include the following:
Qualifying child
Qualifying relative
What if the return was accepted? If I amend mine and remove the dependents, does their father have to wait until my amended return is complete to file them on his? He was rejected on turbo tax, I selected that we have agreement and he is claiming them but didn’t fully delete. If he mail his now, will it be rejected?
I did my taxes n it said I'm getting nothing bk I owe no one I worked 8 months I qualified for both checks I efiled n all it said done taxes and printed but hasn't given me my refund amount I don't understand
If you have already filed and your return has been accepted (or mailed), it's too late to change your bank account for direct deposit.
If you transferred your info from last year's return, TurboTax may prompt you to deposit your tax refund into the same account you used last year. You can easily edit the account info you wish to transfer your money into before you file.
Never can find the option to show to get the form to amend my 2020 return

If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 16 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
See this TurboTax support FAQ on amending a tax return originally completed and filed using the 2020 TurboTax online editions - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/amending/help/how-do-i-amend-my-turbotax-online-return/01/27577
The IRS Form 1040-X for amending a 2020 tax return is scheduled to be available on 02/26/2021 (subject to change)
At this time, the IRS amendment form 1040X will not be available until mid to late March. Please use these links to periodically check for updates to see if these forms are available sooner.

Hi I need to amend my 2020 taxes but when I scroll down to document and look for shoe there is no amend there at all or the word return where else can I go to start the amend process
The IRS forms-availability article states that the IRS Form 1040X will be available 03/25/2021.
Some quick ground rules:
You can correct a return that you've already filed and had accepted. Select the year that applies and use this guide to proceed.
Select your tax year for amending instructions:

If the return is rejected you can make the necessary changes and e-file again.

Hola!
My broker amended the 1099 after I submitted and paid my taxes. I create a copy of my return in the desktop version an update the 1099, The outcome is less taxes owed. $30 in Federal Tax and $7 in State tax.
Is it absolutely necessary to amend my return? (since I paid a little bit more than I should?)
If it is absolutely necessary, how can I do it from the desktop app?
Thanks in advance!
If the corrected 1099 resulted in lower taxes, there isn't any reason to amend - unless you want a refund.
The IRS requires you to report your income. You reported more income than actually received, so you met the IRS requirement .
It is even possible the IRS will catch the change in income (lower) and send you a notice proposing a lower tax. This would happen later in the year, when the IRS matches their copies of 1099's to what you reported on your return.
You can amend the return using a desktop version of TurboTax. See: How do I amend my 2020 return?
Hello - I had initially submitted my 2020 taxes Feb 25th, accepted by the IRS. The Refund status has not changed from "being processed". I had put that I had not received the 2nd stimulus check (looked for the $600 amount, didn't see it, but did receive the stim check, just different amount). So did an amendment (rec'd 2nd stim in Jan2021). When I'm in Turbo Tax (desktop version) I see a changed refund amount from the original. So print the amended return (can't seem to e-file the amended return?). It still has the original refund amount.
I am not sure now what to do. At this point or even if the IRS has my information. "Where's My Refund" on irs.gov is still showing the original refund amount and "still being processed". When I log into irs.gov and look at Account Status it says "Your 2020 Tax Return Is Not Processed"
There doesn't appear to be anyway to fill in a form, talk to anyone at the IRS. All numbers I have go to recorded prompts. So freaking out a bit.
Help!
And thank you.
You do not need to amend your tax return to correct a stimulus payment misstatement. The IRS will make that correction and notify you of the changes. Here is a link with more information.
Thank you. No need to do anything else? Everything still sits at "still processing" my return. Is it now just a waiting game with the refund and the IRS due to the pandemic, staffing, stimulus payments, etc?
And thanks again.
That is correct.
The IRS will make any adjustments and send you a letter in the mail explaining any changes once they have finished reviewing and processing your tax return.

Have you registered online or ordered a transcript by mail or fax to see the status of your 2020 tax return? See this IRS website.
In April 2021 the IRS had 29 million tax returns held for manual processing. As of December 10, 2021, the IRS had 6.2 million unprocessed individual returns. It sounds like you were included in these numbers.
Unprocessed individual returns include tax year 2020 returns with errors and those returns requiring special handling, including those that required correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount and other tax credits.
