I thought the irs wasn't going to start accepting returns til the 29th... why was mine accepted the 23rd?

So we are going through another government shutdown by the end of this week it shows online. Hopefully we get an update sometime before this week ends.

@falopez426 our luck we’ll get the deposit date but it’ll be delayed because of a shutdown

Oh I know! I’ll check again tomorrow lol, I’ve cut it down to just checking once in the morning.

Mine was accepted on Jan 22nd there was a thing said processing,then now there is nothing. Only the topic 152 about if you claimed eic which I did . Hope it hurrys

So I’ve checked nothing yet on my end, some people are now saying it won’t be accepted till the 27th. Some have received their refund with eic but filed with H&RB

The IRS will begin accepting returns on January 29, 2018. However some returns may be accepted before that as part of the IRS testing, please see the following link.

That is clearly not true. My return has already been accepted and is pending on the IRS website through Where is my Refund however Turbotax hasnt received the memo!!

I filed mine today and it was accepted today. The IRS tests their system every year, and accepts some tax returns early, before they officially open for the season.
