We cannot see your return or account here, as this is a public forum. Please copy and paste in the e-file rejection message you received so that we may better assist.

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?
Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "

Transmit my returns now

".

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.  Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.

To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

The government is still finishing up certain forms. Please see the FAQ provided below for IRS forms availability. If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you need to run updates. TurboTax Online should have the updates automatically. If you do that and the form still isn't available, then it has not been released at the projected time. The dates shown are projected, but not guarantees:

Message I'm getting below...can you help?

Keep going to refile your returns

You've visited all the reject errors on your federal return.

If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2019 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2019 AGI might not be in the IRS system.   Try using zero instead.

If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year.  The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

Or—-if you filed as a “non-filer” just to get the stimulus check on a 2019 return, try using $1 as the AGI.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

Once you pay to use online software they will not refund your fee.   If you have some specific questions to ask we may be able to help you get your tax return prepared.   But you are up against a deadline.   You will only be able to use the software for a couple of more days, then online shuts down.

If you are using the TurboTax online editions -

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

If you are using the TurboTax desktop editions installed on your personal computer the 2020 tax return can only be printed and mailed.

I'm  getting this message that my charitable contribution amount on the Worksheet is not correct.  I tried changing it and verifying that I am using the proper amount, but the software will not accept it.  Very frustrating!  I followed remedial instructions, but I continue to get the same error message.  I don't  understand why this should hold  up filing, since the Worksheet is not filed with the return.

If you’re receiving the error check message, enter the amount of donations you made up to the maximum limit per your filing status.

For Married Filing Jointly, the maximum amount to claim is $600. For Single filers, the maximum amount to claim is $300.

I go through all the pages to submit my tax info using turbotax.  It lets me complete everything, but when trying to submit...it gives me a pop-up saying "Tax year 2021 transmissions are not available."  What am I supposed to do do next?

There may be forms that are required for your tax returns that aren't available yet, particularly your state return. If that is the case, the program will not let you e-file. You can check the status of form availability in the below TurboTax help articles. If the forms become available sooner than the currently published date, the article will be updated to reflect the new availability date.

If you find that your state forms are the forms not available, you can choose to file your federal return and come back to file the state once the forms are ready. Please see Can I file my federal taxes now and skip my state for later?
