Why is the IRS rejecting my return for AGI mismatch when I am entering the precise number from my previous year return?

I entered my AGI from box 11 of my 2022 tax return, the IRS rejected my 2023 return citing a mismatch between the AGI I entered and what they have on file. I confirmed my AGI with a return transcript supplied by the IRS as well as the digital copy 2022 of my return at the time of filing.

Try entering 0 for the AGI. The IRS might have processed your return later so the AGI didn't get entered in time.  Especially if you mailed it.  That works for most people. See,

If you can’t get it to efile you will have to print and mail it.

Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them.  You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places.  Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.

Thank you, that worked. I did indeed file 2022 late as you surmised.
