If you are trying to e-file your tax return it is asking for your 2023 AGI from your 2023 tax return.   It is on line 11 of your 2023 Form 1040.

You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Start a 2024 return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

You can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $30, an actual copy of your tax return.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURNS !

EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records.  That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.

NOTE:  TurboTax and the IRS save returns for seven years.  Returns older than seven years are purged.

We used Turbo Tax online to file my son's taxes. We are trying to find his AGI, to access last year's returns, I am prompted to pay $29 to access his documents. VERY DIRTY Turbo Tax. I didn't save them to my desktop (which was destroyed) and now he can't file. We do not have a printer, and he is moving in a week. The IRS wants $30 for a copy of last year's returns. Absolute bull**bleep** I should have to pay after I already spent $95 for software this year. NEVER again will I use Turbo Tax

you actually need his 2023 AGI to e-file his 2024 return

account recovery for online.

hopefully, you did not use the same account you used for your return. in that case, the last return prepared in the account deletes the previous return

online is only good for one taxpayer return. to do a different person's return you need a separate account.

you don't need a copy of his return because you can view a transcript  (free) of his 2023 return online. First you need to create an ID.ME account. see instructions for how to verify identity.

some advice. always save a PDF copy of returns offline like on a cheap thumb drive.

**bleep** OFF!!!

Like I don't know I needed to save it.

We don't have it cause the desktop it was saved to was destroyed with water damage.

I should not have to pay for my tax return after paying $95 for the software.

freaking useless

ID.ME is NOT FREE by the way. you can create a free account, IRS wants $30 as well.
